Lead generation for B2B and SaaS companies: a simple outreach plan
By Success Mike LLC · October 3, 2026
Many B2B and software companies know their product well but struggle to fill the calendar with qualified conversations. A simple, steady outreach plan fixes most of that.
1. Define your buyer
Name the industry, company size and job title of the person who feels the problem you solve. A narrow target beats a wide one.
2. Build a clean list
Collect names, roles and verified contact details. Remove duplicates and anyone outside your target.
3. Write short outreach
Keep the first message brief: who you are, the problem you help with and one clear question. Avoid long pitches.
4. Follow up
Most replies come after the second or third message. Plan three to five follow-ups spread over a few weeks, and track every reply in a CRM.
5. Hand off warm leads
When a prospect shows interest, book the meeting right away. This is where appointment setting helps. See our guide on appointment setting vs lead generation.
